    The DFA technicians need to replace the current temporary cables by hand hole:SDC-176-Core cables route:G1P13-12-IR01P02-Core cables. The infrastructure is currently at risk.
    The cable had been previously damaged within the length. The DFA teams conducted temporary repairs during the break to restore services. The DFA teams will generate permanent repairs to create network and infrastructure stability.
    The core-links will be brought down one at a time and restoration confirmed to avoid any isolation on protected services.

    Location: Alexandra Ave-Sixteen Road Midrand.

    Please note that we are experiencing overutilization of the existing power feed to the below DFA Aggregation Nodes. Due to the support from you our customer, we’ve experienced higher than projected growth in power utilization of existing power feeds.

    It is critical that the power feed be upgraded to double the current capacity to prevent intermittent loss of power and subsequent loss of service. Upgrading these nodes to double the current power feed capacity will enable DFA to ensure future power feed upgrades will be communicated timeously to you, our customer. DFA requires down time for a maximum of 30 minutes per node as per below schedule to perform the required power feed upgrade.

    From 06:00 on Sunday 8 September 2019 the power upgrade will be performed as per below schedule:


    1. At 06:00 the power and subsequent services of Fourways Aggregation Node will be brought down to upgrade the power feed and restore power within 15 minutes. Once all services have restored the team will continue to the next site.
    2. At 06:30 the power and subsequent services of Sandton Aggregation Node will be brought down to upgrade the power feed and restore power within 15 minutes. Once all services have restored the team will continue to the next site.
    3. At 07:00 the power and subsequent services of Randburg (Motor City) Aggregation Node will be brought down to upgrade the power feed and restore power within 15 minutes. Once all services have restored the team will continue to the next site.
    4. At 07:30 the power and subsequent services of Rosebank Aggregation Node will be brought down to upgrade the power feed and restore power within 15 minutes. Once all services have restored the team will continue to the next site.

    Both logical and physical services that terminate and path through the above listed nodes will experience a maximum of 30 minutes down time.
